The 5th Malaysia International Shoe Festival 2014 (MISF2014) Opening Ceremony

27 March 2014, Thursday was yet another historical day to mark the grand opening ceremony of the Malaysia International Shoe Festival for the fifth year and I happened to be one of the lucky bloggers being invited to this talk-of-the-town event that was recently held at Putra World Trade Centre ("PWTC") Kuala Lumpur.

The minute I stepped into Hall 2 at about 12pm, the registration area was already quite happening with some medias or guests queuing up excitedly to register themselves before entering into the event hall while others, including myself was so amazed by those creative shoe designs that was submitted by the contestants who had earlier participated in the Malaysia Footwear Design Competition 2014.

And here are some of my 'pick' going up-close.

Dont' you wish to have a pair of those too?  Well, other than those beautifully designed shoes being displayed, there were also these creative shoe boxes arising from the "Out of the Box" competition that captured the attention of the medias and guests.

Let's come back to the annual grand opening ceremony of The 5th Malaysia International Shoe Festival 2014 (MISF2014) held in Hall 2 of PWTC that kicked start at the main stage with a traditional dance performed by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia that deserved a round of applause.

The first welcome speech was given by the President of Malaysian Footwear Manufacturers Association (MFMA), Mr. Tony Ting.

The Honorable Guest of Honor, Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz was present and given his speech before officiated the Opening.

Besides YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz and Mr. Tony Ting, YB Dato' Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen and Professor Datuk (Dr) Jimmy Choo OBE were also called on stage together with two other honorable guests to officially launch the Grand Opening of the 5th Malaysia International Shoe Festival 2014 (MISF2014)

and at the same time bringing out the giant stiletto shoe that comes with 20,000 Swarovski crystals by Swarovski.  This 5-foot stiletto shoe is the grand highlight of MISF 2014 and it is definitely a breath-taking work of art that's set to dazzle the world of fashion.

Followed by the presentation of souvenir to the Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz by Mr. Tony Ting, the President of Malaysian Footwear Manufacturers Association.

The programme continued with yet another dance performance, the Ballerina show

and last but not least, the shoe fashion show by beautiful models including our Miss Malaysia Tourism 2013, Ms. Thaarah Ganesan showcasting the latest footwear trends from major shoe brands like Amori, Bonia, Ecco, Florsheim, Payless, Larrie, Zang Toi, Armourdino, US Polo Assn, Tiamo and Florucci.

A group photo session of all models before we adjourned for the Press Conference and also site tour with the VVIPs.

After having a simple refreshment as served, I tour around and stopped at some of those creatively decorated booths to take some pictures together with three beautiful ladies whom I met earlier.

Overall I think that there were more than 60 exhibitors internationally featuring thousands of latest design of shoes ranging from flip-flops to elegant heels and even cute tiny baby shoes.

Uploaded below are few of those booths set up which we have visited.

At 3:30pm sharp, we made a stop at the Sogno Gallery for their launching by Professor Datuk (Dr.) Jimmy Choo OBE.

A few pairs of design heels by Datuk (Dr) Jimmy Choo OBE were being nicely displayed at the Sogno Gallery that caught the attention of many passes by especially the medias.

The launching of Sogno Gallery actually kicked-start with a fantastic solo high-pitch female singer then followed by another round of shoe fashion show before it adjourned.

Remember that I did mention earlier in this post that I happened to bump into three beautiful ladies during the refreshment time?  Yes, they are bloggers too who were being invited to this afternoon event.  Again I must stressed that they are very nice and friendly ladies and we actually 'click' almost immediate but of course they are way more experienced blogger than I am and their every post will surely inspired their readers with detailed information and beautiful photographs.
